Update to Gleneagles NBN FTTP Project

Approach to ACT Government

UPDATE: Response from ACT Chief Minister Response ACT Chief Minister 310718

On behalf of the committee (who have worked very hard on the project, in particular Laurence Buchanan and Mark Haezlett) I once again approached our ACT Government MLAs of Murrumbidgee, requesting support for our proposal.

I provided our 5 MLAS (Bec Cody, Jeremy Hanson, Giulia Jones, Caroline Le Couteur and Chris Steel) a brief history of the project, and proposed consideration be given to funding an Area Switch for the Estate, with the costs to be recovered through our rates over a period of time.

I had two responses to my correspondence which can be read from these links:

Issues that Cannot Be Resolved through RSP

On other news, those who responded to the requests of the 4th & 11th of June 2018 asking those who had problems that could not be resolved through their RSP (Retail Service Provider – ie. Internet Provider) had their details passed to NBNCo, who are taking remediation action in an attempt to fix issues experienced with the copper.

NBNCo offer to the Community – 31 May 2018

Following the meeting on 22 May 2018, NBNCo formally wrote to all those who responded to the Expression Of Interest on 31 May 2018.

We will continue to engage with NBNCo in due course, and update the community when an approach has been decided upon.
