“No shows” for FTTN appointments, “NBN Not Available”, and Useful Information on website

FTTN Appointments not being fulfilled

A few residents have had their FTTN NBN appointments cancelled without any notification by NBN or their RSP.

It is suggested that when dealing with RSPs:

  • Make sure you get a receipt/interaction number for your reference every time you contact them;
  • Contact the RSP the day or two before with these references to confirm the switch over date, if they have not confirmed it with you via email/phone a day or two before; and
  • You do not have to be home for any appointment unless they specifically identify that you do. If they ask you to be there, ask them to confirm that this is really the case.

“NBN Not Available”

Some residents are being told that NBN is not available to them. Please let me know as I am compiling a list of these residents, and will do my best to try and get NBN to investigate (and I have tried unsuccessfully once already).  In the meantime, keep checking the NBN website to see if they have sorted themselves out every few days.  At worst, NBN state that they should have everyone’s records correct by October at the latest.

Useful Information

The emails that I send out are all listed as posts on this website. I also (try to) categorise them based on what they are about.

One category is ‘Useful Information’. This contains information on setting up your modem, things you should be aware of, questions and answers, etc.

By clicking on the category it will display all the posts that have been tagged in that category.
