Internet Outages in the estate – Telstra fault notification shortcut

A number of residents have had issues recently with the NBN network. With more rain on the way this weekend, it is likely that this trend will continue thanks to the copper infrastructure we have in the estate.

If your internet service is not working, whilst it is a painful process, it is worthwhile lodging a fault with your provider to raise the profile of the issue so it gets escalated through their processes.

Telstra Customers can bypass some of the trouble shooting steps over the phone by using the online troubleshooting tool and noting the reference number it gives you once you have completed the steps.  It will save you time in the fault notification process.  Make sure you are standing next to the modem, and can see the lights as they will still ask you those questions.

The Telstra phone number to call to lodge a fault is 1800 834 273.   Make sure you get an interaction/receipt number for every call or contact you have, and make a note of it so you can refer back if the matter is not resolved satisfactorily.
