Patch work at the Pillar

Workmen have been patching the pillar to the node half of the pillar the last couple of days.

Once this is done, it will be up to NBN to patch the resident half of the pillar which connects the pillar to premises.

This is another milestone towards NBN for our community. We are certainly at the home stretch.

Whilst the internet over copper serviced by the node will be far superior to what is offered currently, I cannot stress enough that the longer term benefits of Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) through the project is a unique opportunity<:

  • Immediately increasing the value of your home (internet is now becoming one of the decision points for house purchases);
  • You will be guaranteed that the speed you order is what you will get between yourself and your ISP;
  • The quality of service and reliability of that connection will not be impacted by the deteriorating copper that our current service is being run on. Keep in mind the copper is not being replaced with the FTTN rollout. – Given the issues our copper has had delivering a simple ADSL1 service, I hate to think it will fare over the years delivering such a demanding service such as VDSL2; and
  • Should your requirements change, FTTP is scalable to meet your needs. The FTTN is the ‘best effort’ available on copper. Period.
  • The project is a unique opportunity to get a state of the art, reliable and scalable internet infrastructure which has many tangible benefits. Don’t miss out on this opportunity.

    Cheers
