How is your internet going in the rain?

Certainly the plastic bag solution on Ivo Whitton Circuit has been feeling the strain. Your copper line is a series of connections and joins, and water will change the properties of your phone line – and can take many days after rain stops to dry out.
If you could provide advice in the comments section (working well or not) below please, we would be most grateful.
Thanks

SLOW JUST SLOW & unresponsive at times and we even pay for a turbo charged line.
Slow as always. Just don’t try and watch a HD video clip on facebook!
I had an outage for 3 weeks in september – october 2015. The technician I spoke to who was attending to one of the joins said that there was alot of moisture in the pit he was looking at.
Speed remains somewhat variable throughout the day and the evenings but the latency delays vary rapidly just in the time of a speed check. Also have periods of very slow response and page loads. Several speed checks in rapid succession often produce totally different results especially for ping times. Just like Brady we pay iinet extra for 6-7mpbs connection.
You are absolutely correct, latency is impacted as the modem is constantly trying to accommodate the line, similar thing. ADSL customers on Telstra Wholesale have been paying through the nose for over a decade for a very overpriced and sub-par service.
Streaming is definitely slow and sometimes has hiccups. Websites are fine.
Very slow
We had problems with our phone (Mt Vernon Drive) a week or so ago due to water in the line – Telstra fixed it very quickly which was great.
Yep – my phone line was very crackly and I couldn’t get more than .01 or .02 on the speedtest. I registered a complaint with telstra. I remain extremely unhappy though with the day to day speed – lucky to get 3 mbps which only just gets me by.
I would like to see more action about the internet. I’m running a business from home and when it last rained we had pretty much no internet for days. Telstra finally came out to play with the box up the street and I’m pretty sure they just moved our switch in the box. When is the next meeting as I think we should all be complaining with telstra at the same time to register the whole suburb as a fault.
